Ecopsychology
M.A. Psychology in Integrative Studies

The Integrative Studies in Psychology concentration (ISP) allows you to explore various areas of interest through the lens of psychology. Ecopsychology is a structured path that integrates the discipline of psychology with a renewed connection to nature. This master's degree concentration does not lead to clinical licensure.

Provisional Admission to Ecopsychology

This option allows you to be admitted into a pre-master's status when the prerequisite courses are in progress. If admitted provisionally, you have two quarters to complete them at Antioch prior to full admission into the Ecopsychology concentration. Contact the Admissions Office at admissions@antiochseattle.edu for more information.

Admission Requirements

  • Ability to initiate independent work with a high degree of responsibility and self-direction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a learning environment.
  • Two letters of recommendation: one from a professional who can assess your organizational and interpersonal skills and one from a social science instructor who can describe your potential as a graduate student (download forms located on this page).
  • Completion of two prerequisite courses: life span development and theories of personality with a minimum grade of C, or a bachelor's degree in psychology within the last 10 years with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Admission Essay Instructions

Submit a typewritten, double-spaced essay with your application. Please write one to two pages in response to each of the following questions. Clearly number your response to each question.

  1. Provide an autobiographical statement, describing your personal, professional and educational history, clearly linking these to your educational and career objectives.
  2. Give one example from your experience as a learner that demonstrate your ability to take responsibility for directing your own learning. Give one example of your ability to learn in collaboration with others.
  3. Describe why you are interested in this focused concentration in the Integrative Studies in Psychology program, include the concentration that you are interested in, the knowledge and skills you wish to develop and any preliminary ideas you have for your Application Project.
