Center for Creative Change

The Center for Creative Change is a dynamic and innovative graduate center that prepares students to envision and lead effective, sustainable change in organizations, businesses and communities. The center brings together five degree programs in an integrated model where students collaborate on action research projects in the real world. Students meet over a four-day weekend once a month. The center also offers six graduate certificates.

Center-Specific Admission Requirements

Through your application materials and an interview, you must demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other students and faculty in a learning environment.
  • Ability for reflection, self-awareness, critical thinking and sustained inquiry.
  • Ability to initiate independent academic work with a high degree of responsibility and self-direction.
  • Demonstrated evidence of organizational, conceptual and expressive skills, including writing and oral communication.
  • Competency in using computerized communication tools and access to a computer with Internet connection.
  • At least two years practical work experience relevant to your program of interest.
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can discuss your strengths and weaknesses as a graduate student. One letter should be from a person who has observed you in a learning setting, and the other from a person who has supervised you in work related to your proposed area of study.   • If you have not enrolled in a college course in the past five years, both letters of recommendation may be from professional supervisors.

Admission Essay Instructions

Submit a five-page, typed, double-spaced essay. Your essay should be thorough and detailed. It will serve as a writing sample and will help determine a fit between your goals and capabilities and the program.

In your essay, please include the following:

1. Describe your personal, professional and educational history, and specifically address how these elements relate to your educational and career goals.

2. Describe your ideas and expectations for your graduate program and how you believe Antioch’s program will help you attain your goals.

3. Explain how your experience, skills and general competencies prepare you for graduate work, giving special attention to the admission requirements.

Transfer Credit

You may transfer up to nine quarter credits of prior graduate-level coursework into one of the master's degrees offered through the Center for Creative Change.

Enrollment Deposit

If you are accepted into the program, you must submit a non-refundable enrollment deposit of $150, due within three weeks of acceptance to the program. Once paid, the fee will reserve a space in the program and will be applied to your first quarter's tuition.
