When Campus Closes

Antioch is committed to keeping you informed when the campus is not open due to inclement weather or an emergency.

Where to Find Campus Closure Information

There are multiple ways to find out if AUS is open or closed.  Please check the home page of the AUS website, Twitter, Facebook, the AUS emergency message phone line at 206-268-4555, the Public Schools Emergency Communication website at www.schoolreport.org or the Student and Employees Official Announcement folders on FirstClass.  Each will be updated and kept current to the best of our abilities.

General Rule About Closing the Campus

AUS follows the decision of the Seattle Public Schools. When Seattle Public Schools are closed, AUS is closed. If the Seattle Public Schools are starting two hours late, AUS is starting two hours late. Closures affecting weekend classes are determined by AUS.

Personal Safety

Always consider your personal safety. If campus is open, but you think the conditions are too dangerous, then do not come to campus. Be smart, be safe and let someone (your supervisor or instructor) know where you are. Do not take unnecessary risks getting to campus.

Closing the Campus

The President or the President’s designee(s) determines whether the university will close.

If the campus is closed, employees are not expected to come to work.

If the campus is open and an individual staff or faculty member cannot get to work, that person is responsible for notifying his or her supervisor and, as appropriate, students.
