What is the training schedule?
Sessions run 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are two 15-minute breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with a one-hour break for lunch.

Can I select sessions that I want to attend?
No. In order to receive the Case Management Certificate from Antioch University, you must attend all sessions and meet all training requirements in a satisfactory manner.

What are the requirements to receive the Case Management Certificate?
Training requirements to receive the Certificate of Completion are:

  1. Attend all sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  2. Actively participate in class discussions and activities.
  3. Submit all required assignments in a timely manner.

Is there a way to do make up work for missed assignments and/or classes?
Make-ups are allowed only for extremely extenuating and unavoidable circumstances. In addition, your supervisor must provide written approval for the request. If you believe you'll need to miss some or all of a class session, contact program coordinator Randi Jensen as soon as possible. Her contact information will be included in the syllabus.

Is there any homework?
Yes. You'll be required to do some out of class homework as well as a collaborative project to be worked on primarily during class with other participants. Details on homework will be provided at the orientation session.

Is lunch provided?
No. Participants can bring lunch (the student lounge in the building has a refrigerator and microwave) or they may purchase lunch at the cafe in the building or in any of the delis in the area.

Is parking provided?
Paid parking is available around the building. The campus is convenient to bus lines and is located at the north end of downtown Seattle.

What do I bring to the training sessions?
A required course "reader" which includes handouts and several articles will be available for purchase at a reasonable price either at the orientation or on the first day of class. You'll need to bring this binder with you to each class session and you will use it to hold additional handouts that are provided by guest speakers throughout the course. You should also bring a pen/pencil and paper for taking notes to each class. We recommend that you bring your own reusable mug for beverages to reduce waste.

How will I know if I have earned the Case Management Certificate?
Those who complete the program and turn in a satisfactory final project will receive a course completion form with instructor comments as well as a certificate of completion for the program. Because Antioch is closed during part of the month of December, you may expect to receive your completion form and certificate by mail around mid-January.

Can you earn Continuing Education Units with this training?
Yes. 6.0 CEUs are recorded upon successful completion of the course and you may request a transcript documenting the earning of these units through the Office of Continuing Education at Antioch at any time in the future. If your employer needs a record of CEUs beyond the certificate itself, you will need to request a transcript.

Why would I want to earn Continuing Education Units?
Your current job or your profession may require you to earn a certain amount of continuing education each year. For example, if you are registered with Washington state as a licensed counselor, chemical dependency counselor or mental health counselor, you are required to earn a certain number of continuing education units per year.

Do I have to pay a fee in order to get my Continuing Education Units?
No, but in order to obtain a transcript, should you need one, you need to pay $7 per copy.
