Case Management Training Series for Fall 2011
This year Antioch's Center for Continuing Education is offering a series of day-long trainings geared to the needs of social service case managers.

The following two core trainings are highly recommended for both new and experienced case managers:
- Motivational Interviewing, Sept. 21, 2011
- Record Keeping and Case File Management, Sept. 28, 2011
After taking both of these core trainings, participants may register for additional electives in the case management series. Fall electives will be:

- Ethics, Law and Policy Compliance, Nov. 10, 2011

ED 4514: Case Management: Best Practices & Standards (6 CEUs)
This highly interactive class introduces theories and skills that support client change, such as theory of change, motivational interviewing, building rapport, keeping clients accountable and cultural competence. In addition, participants learn client assessments, writing case notes, charting and documentation and working with special populations. Participants learn effective strategies that address client barriers: substance abuse, mental health, criminal backgrounds, learning disability, domestic violence, homelessness and other disabilities. Participants gain practical information that will benefit their clients about the local economy and hiring trends, and help transition them into corporate America, making the best job matches for clients and marketing clients with barriers to employers. Participants also learn how to support client upward mobility with a particular focus on staying in the job, financial literacy and career advancement. Finally, case managers learn how to prevent burn-out and of local resources available to them that support client transitions.
Please note: The full Case Management Best Practices certificate program will not be offered in 2011.
