Camp Antioch

Camp Antioch 2007 was the start of a great tradition and left alumni and guests with memories that will last them a lifetime. Camp Antioch 2008 was a meaningful weekend that fed the mind, body and spirit.

The weekend is a gift to yourself—a time out of time, away from the cell phone and the computer; a time to relax, a time to learn and grow in a beautiful pastoral setting with breath taking waterfront views and deer that roam freely throughout the camp grounds; a place where you can throw away the rules and restrictions of your daily life and be who you really are.

It's also a place where you learn things that you can take back to your working life and an opportunity to make a lot of personal connections that can be valuable resources later. Many alumni who attend the camp feel it helped revive that enthusiasm for learning and growing that made their days at the Seattle campus so special—not to mention the laughter that pervades all that happens at Camp Antioch.

About Camp Antioch

The idea of an adult camp weekend was the outgrowth of a suggestion by an Antioch College alumnus. Camp Antioch is held on beautiful Vashon Island, a 15 minute ferry ride from West Seattle, Tacoma or the Kitsap Peninsula. Amenities include a gorgeous waterfront property on Quartermaster Harbor with wooded areas and trails for walking, meeting and sleeping rooms that face the water along with delicious and satisfying meals.

Workshops and facilitated discussions are led by faculty and alumni on a variety of worthy topics. Physical exercise options include beach walks and exercises emphasizing leadership building. Of course, no beach retreat would be the same without campfires, s'mores, songs and lots of one-on-one conversations. Plenty of time is factored in for the spontaneous and unexpected.

Who Comes?

Alumni, staff, faculty, students, partners and friends from all six Antioch campuses are invited to attend and bring their own bedding, pillow, flashlight, bath towels plus toiletry items (shampoo, toothbrush, etc.). Vegetarians, vegans or those alumni who have dairy or wheat allergies can also be accommodated.
