International Programs
Antioch offers two programs for younger students interested in integrating study abroad into their college studies. Through its affiliation with LEAPNOW: Transforming Education, Antioch offers an alternative freshman/ sophomore year called LEAPYEAR for ages 17-24 that allows a student to travel and study abroad for 6 months of the year. Antioch Education Abroad is also an alternative for any student currently in college who wishes to participate in study abroad. In addition to LEAPYEAR and Antioch Education Abroad, there are a number of international students who choose to study here. In January 2009, Franchesska Berry, a 2008-09 Fulbright Scholar, spent four months in Cairo, Egypt, teaching and performing the African and African-American dance she fashioned into a multicultural education program – international in its reach and value – for her Antioch Seattle M.A.Ed. culminating project. Fulbright Scholar James Sasongko came to Antioch Seattle's Center for Creative Change and the Organizational Psychology* program from Indonesia and graduated in 2009. He hopes to work on an international level to facilitate change in organizations. Vanessa D'Amelio is earning her master's degree in Environment and Community. She traveled to Ethiopia as part of iLEAP, an organization whose executive director, Britt Yamamoto, is a core faculty member in Antioch's Center for Creative Change. For information on how you might integrate international study into your degree program, or find out more about how Antioch supports international students, contact admissions@antiochseattle.edu. *In 2010, the Organizational Psychology program changed its name to "Organizational Development." |
