Endorsements

Expand your teaching credentials with Antioch's endorsement programs. Learning new content areas and specialty techniques can increase your teaching opportunities and choices. These programs are based on the state learning goals and essential academic learning requirements. The competencies for each endorsement area can be downloaded here. Previous coursework or other past experiences may apply toward your endorsement requirements.

Two pathways are available in Washington for certified teachers who wish to add an endorsement to their teaching certificate through an institution of higher education. The WEST-E test is required in order to add an endorsement to a teaching certificate. For more information on the WEST-E tests, please visit the WEST website.

Antioch offers both Pathway 2 and Pathway 3 endorsement programs based on learning goals and essential academic learning requirements in Washington.

Pathway 2

Pathway 2 is for teachers who wish to add an endorsement that is similar in instructional methodology and content skills to their current endorsement. Click here for more information.

Pathway 3

Pathway 3 is for teachers who wish to add an endorsement and do not meet the criteria established by Pathway 2. The following Pathway 3 endorsements are now available through Antioch's School of Education:

Environmental & Sustainability Education

Learn to lead sustainable change in the classroom and in your community.

Library Media

Become qualified to develop and implement a successful library media program in your school.

Special Education

Become qualified to work in one of the biggest areas of need in schools across the nation.
