The Center for Teaching and Learning offers a range of courses to develop new writing competencies. Courses are designed with the specific needs of Antioch students in mind, and courses geared for graduate students as well as undergraduates. Current course offerings are listed below.

WRTG403/603: Developing Writing Confidence: Rhetorical Questions, 3 credits
This course surveys the grammar rules of written communication important to successful writing and demystifies the conventions of formal writing. The focus is on the sorts of technical difficulties common to writers interested in learning the details of the mechanics, grammar and conventions of standard written discourse.

WRTG405: Writing in Academic Contexts, 3 credits
Writing in Academic Contexts offers students a critical exploration of reading and writing intrinsic to the university. Students compose in a variety of genres, from personal narratives to more formal, academic writing incorporating outside research. The writing workshop approach includes tutorials supporting their writing process, peer editing and successful revising and proofreading techniques.

WRTG406: Inquiry and Research, 3 credits         
Inquiry and Research offers students a comprehensive experience in writing from and about research within academic communities. The class emphasizes critical reading and thinking and the development of technical and library skills, as well as the integration of primary and secondary sources in writing. Students gain experience in composing in multiple genres requiring formal research.

WRTG408/608: Digital Storytelling, 4 credits undergraduate, 3 credits graduate 
The ancient art of storytelling has been brought to new life in the digital age. This class explores the power of story as it gives voice to memories, identities, life lessons, dreams and yearnings for change. Students learn to craft script, still and video images and music soundtrack into a 3 to 5 minute digital movie.

WRTG490/690: Special Topics: Media Writing, 3 credits
This course engages students in critical understanding and deconstructing the "rhetoric" involved electronic media, from web design to blogs. Students compose an array of texts designed for online communication.

WRTG400: Writing Tutorial, 1 credit        
The Writing Tutorial offers Antioch students a small group tutorial experience that supports the undergraduate students' writing in their academic program. Through structured, small group, bi-weekly meetings with a faculty member, students process their writing: from generating ideas and composing to proofreading and revising.

WRTG600: Writing Tutorial, 1 credit        
The Writing Tutorial offers Antioch students a small group tutorial experience that supports the undergraduate students' writing in their academic program. WRTG606: Inquiry and Research, Psychology, 3 credits graduate
