Our Faculty

Antioch's exceptional faculty members offer instruction and advising that's dynamic, meaningful and individualized.

Academic and Real-world Expertise

Antioch's core faculty members teach and advise full-time. Along with the other experienced faculty and instructors, core faculty have great expertise in their fields and in the art of teaching.

Many faculty hone their skills by working as organizational or educational consultants, practicing as psychologists, publishing books or articles, or working for social justice or environmental causes.

More than 97 percent of Antioch's full-time core faculty hold doctoral degrees. These degrees come from some of the most respected institutions of higher education in the nation.

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty Ormond Smythe has a doctorate from Harvard University and is an Antioch College graduate (see his first-hand recollection of Arthur Morgan). He is part of the President's Team, which also includes the president, vice president for administration and finance, vice president for institutional advancement and special assistant to the president.
